September 9th 2015 – The Scarborough WEXFORD BLAST U13 Boys Soccer team championed to NUMBER ONE in the top Tier 1A Rep League. Mentorship and skill development has hailed from the talented head coach Mr. Jeff Hackett – technical director of the Wexford Soccer Club and Former Pro and International Player.
On September 8th at Major Abbas Ali Park in Scarborough, Wexford faced The Leaside Blue Tigers for their final game. Wexford was once defeated by Leaside early on in the season, however THE BLAST led the charge with intense power winning 7-0, much to the delight of the parents, players and local Scarborough media who were present.
This CHAMPIONSHIP for THE BLAST has shown that team work, spirit and quality development can triumph in spite of hardships that some of the families face.
The 13 year old boys became Toronto Champions last week, sealing the championship with a DYNAMIC win over the Weston Wolves 6-0 at their home field.
Montreal – The BLAST also won the “A” division championship in Quebec at the Brossard Challenge in August– nearly all games were shut out wins over Ontario, Quebec and GTA teams. This winning momentum set the pace for the battle between East and West in the Toronto Youth League .The first game between regions had THE BLAST winning 1-0 over #1 in the west, The York Jets.The WEXFORD BLAST has now earned their stripes as a REGIONAL team. The BLAST’S next challenge is the Woodbridge Challenge Cup on September 26th and 27th at the Vaughan Grove Sports Park.

A matchup between Wexford, Scarborough and Woodbridge in Woodbridge (a haven for soccer), is likely to be filled with intense rivalry and action. Stay tuned.
